Application of electromagnetic waves

Radioplasty is a method involving the local application ofelectromagnetic waves with a frequency of 4 MHz to the deep layers of the skin and subcutaneous tissue to achieve a cosmetic effect. In this case, there is no thermal effect on the surface of the epithelium covering the skin.The method is designed for use in cosmetology and aesthetic medicine.The special frequency of 4 MHz radiation, the ability to adjust and control the required temperature increase can give optimal, controlled heating of body tissues, as well as subcutaneous tissues of the face and head.

Main indications for use:
- non-surgical rejuvenation;
- Tightening the skin of the face and body;
- Smoothing out wrinkles;
- increased skin turgor.
Physical basis of the method.
Radiofrequency electromagnetic waves in the range of 300 kHz to 10000 kHz penetrate the irradiated tissue and produce heat when absorbed by the tissue.The depth of penetration of radiofrequency fields deep into the tissue depends on the frequency of the field. The lower the frequency, the deeper the penetration.The radiofrequency device is usually set to a constant high frequency of 4 MHz, which allows it to penetrate directly into the deeper layers of skin and subcutaneous tissue without causing deeper effects.Most of the effects that can result from exposure to radiofrequency fields are in response to directional heating, which in turn causes an increase in tissue and body temperature of more than 1˚C.

Effects of exposure to radiofrequency waves.
The biological effect of radiofrequency wave heat at the epidermal level is the immediate shrinking (tightening) of collagen fibers, with an effect that lasts for another 4-6 months.As a result, there is a stimulation of fibroblast activity with the synthesis of new collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid, and an increase in histologically demonstrated skin density, which improves the appearance of skin lacking elasticity and skin with a visible "orange peel" effect.In fact, wrinkles on the face are reduced due to increased collagen production, and on the body the skin is smoothed, with a pronounced rejuvenating effect.Significant, visible improvement occurs after the first treatment and strengthens after several sessions. After a period of 6 months, the rejuvenation and lifting effects increase. The results, which are stable over time, last for 2-3 years.In response to targeted heating, the following changes occur in the skin:
- Shortening and tightening of collagen fibers;
- Dilation of capillaries and blood vessels;
- Increased blood flow;
- Improving microcirculation;
- Elimination of blood stagnation in capillaries;
- Restoration of elasticity and permeability of blood vessel walls.
This results in an immediate visible tightening effect on the skin of the face or other area. In addition, a course of treatments is followed by strong stimulation of new collagen formation in the dermis and deeper layers of the skin by stimulating fibroblasts. See how the Thermacell device works.

The increase in temperature also leads to the following effects:
- Accelerate metabolic processes, speeding up all chemical reactions and breaking down fats;
- Restore the ability of fat cells to maintain normal fat metabolism at the cytoplasmic membrane;
- Interruption of the fibrosis process in subcutaneous fat.
EXECUTION TECHNIQUE
1. REGULARITYIfthe patient shows good tolerance and adequate response, the total number of treatments can be 3-4 at weekly intervals.The full effect is visible after 3-4 months (during this time the formation of new fibrin and collagen occurs). Maximum - after 6 months.The result persists for 2-3 years.2. INDICATIONS
- reddened and damaged skin
- diabetic neuropathy
- skin atrophy
- psoriasis
- neurodermatitis
- pregnancy
- presence of implanted pacemakers
3. CONSEQUENCESMildredness of the affected area mayoccur, which will disappear spontaneously within 24 hours. Rarely, mild swelling and redness may occur, which usually disappears within 3-5 days, but may persist for up to several weeks.4. PRECAUTIONS- Carefully study the recommended settings of the device to set the output of the CURIS device.If the electrode is pulled aside during activation of the generator or applied to the skin after activation, it may cause the patient to experience an electric shock comparable to a static discharge in a dry environment, therefore:
- Apply the radioplastic electrode to the skin and apply energy ONLY AFTER the radioplastic electrode touches the skin (the electrode touches the skin with the entire working surface).
- Move the electrode over the skin, pressing lightly, in a circular motion WITHOUT BREAKING OR DISCONNECTING with the skin.
- The radioplastic electrode should be removed from the skin ONLY AFTER the energy supply from the device has been interrupted. Wrinkle treatment is closely related to patient feedback, so DO NOT use local, oral or systemic anesthesia before or during treatment.
The patient should feel warmth and not a burning sensation during the treatment. If the patient feels a burning sensation, stop the treatment immediately (first disconnect the energy supply, then remove the electrode from the skin ) and move on to other areas. Do not treat wrinkles on skin that has cuts, wounds or infections.
